Purpose 
Hylomorph is striving to reduce the risks associated with permanent implants. Infections after getting an implant can be better treated if they are detected in an early phase. With this aim we are running a program to collect photos of surgical wounds. 

PRIMA lets patients take pictures of their surgical wounds at home with their phone camera. The application automatically stores the images in a database and shares them with your medical doctors and healthcare providers. In collaboration with them and other research partners, we aim to learn how to recognize early signs of infection, ultimately being of help to you and others.

Privacy Policy 

This Privacy Policy explains how Hylomorph collects, uses, and protects your data in compliance with GDPR. 

 

Data Collection 

We collect: 

  • Personal Data: First and Last Name, date of birth, email address and/or phone number. 

  • Image Data: Images of any part of your body where surgery was performed. 

  • Associated Data: Date, type, context of the images, and hospital ID. 

  • Usage Data: Information on how you access and use the App (e.g., frequency, features).

 

Data Use 

We use your data for: 

  • Providing Core Functionalities: Analyzing images to monitor progress and provide insights. 

  • Improving the App: Developing algorithms for better clinical assessment based on anonymized data. 

  • Research and Education: Contributing to anonymized datasets for medical research and training of medical personnel. 

  • Data Ownership: You retain ownership of all images and data you upload. By uploading, you grant Hylomorph the right to use these images and associated data for research purposes, education, image analysis and to improve the App. 

  • Analysis: image processing and content analysis, in search for clinically relevant signals; by using manual, semi-automated, fully automated, and/or machine learning methods. 

  • Improving the App: developing algorithms to identify clinically relevant signals. 

  • Research & Education: contributing to medical research and training of medical personnel. 

  • Data Sharing: We may share anonymized or pseudonymized data (excluding any personally identifiable information) with third-party service providers, research institutions, and healthcare providers for further analysis aimed at improving assessments and treatments. Industry-standard anonymization techniques ensure your privacy. 

  • Legal Basis: We process your data based on your consent (obtained during registration and through App and acceptance of this terms). This is in accordance with Article 6 of GDPR. 

 

​Data Protection 

  • Security: We employ industry-standard security measures, including AES-256 encryption, to protect your data in transit and at rest. Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel only. 

  • User Rights: You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data, as well as the right to data portability and to object to the processing of your data. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us through the details provided here and in the “About us” session of the App:

  • Data Retention: We will retain your data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in the Data Collection and Usage section. You may request the deletion of your data at any time by notifying us through any of the available channels as specified above under your User Rights.

Hylomorph may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Users will be informed of any changes via email or notification within the App and will need to review and accept the updated policy to continue using the App.

User Obligations 

  • Eligibility: You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and provide accurate and truthful information when using the App. 

  • Informed Consent: By proceeding, you consent to the use of your data as described herein, acknowledging that you are fully conscious, aware, and capable of making this decision. 

 

Intellectual Property 

Hylomorph owns all intellectual property rights to the App and its content. 

 

Termination 

Hylomorph may terminate your access to the App for violation of these Terms. Users will be notified of the termination via email or in-app notification.

Hylomorph reserves the right to modify the above Terms and Privacy Policy at any time. Users will be notified of any changes via email or in-app notification and must agree to the new terms to continue using the App. 

 

Governing Law 

The Terms above are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Zurich.
